What is a Visa 500 student?

Student Visa (Subclass 500) can stay in Australia for up to five years to study the entire course in their educational institutions in accordance with registration. With this Visa you can:

Take part during the overall course of your study
Include your family members (Your partners, or your child) within your application.
Apply online whether you are in or out of Australia
Work for upto 40 hours every 2 weeks right after your course starts

What are the criterias for the Student Visa 500?

The applicant must be 6 years or older
Should be able to provide CoE (confirmation of Enrolment) at a full-time course which is registered at the Institution and courses for overseas student.
If you are under 18, the applicant must have adequate welfare arrangement to showcase your living in Australia.
Meet all of the language barriers and showcase proof of English language skills.
Needs to have enough funding to sustain your stay at Australia.

What is the process?

If outside of Australia, applicant needs to apply for the visa 6 weeks before your course begins.
If in Australia, you need to allow plenty of time before the current visa expires to ensure there is enough time to resolve complications in process if any.
Ensure you have all the correct and right documents while gathering and updating it online.
Pay the immigration or visa application charge one you apply for the process.

Processing Time & Cost

Processing time may vary depending on your education field as well as the environment. The main appointment can cost anywhere from AUD $630 to more depending on the person and the process one is applying for.

Yes, the applicant needs to be covered by Overseas Student Health Cover from an approved Australian Health Insurance provider. 

Working Rights within the Student Visa 500

The visa allows a student to work upto 20 hours a weel and you will be allowed to work immediately after your course starts.
